Ina and the chocolate factory

Here are the photos of my gig at the “Karamel”, an actually not so little cafe / live music venue inside a big chocolate factory complex. Now, from the moment I heard “chocolate factory” I was in. Unfortunately, as I found out later, the cafe was vegan, they only sold one type of chocolate bar and all my band members and me couldn’t help but feeling disappointment about the lack of chocolate abundance that we had so vividly imagined. Otherwise, great venue, great sound and I was happy to see some of my good friends joining me that night. Pictures were taken by Johnny Chun Wah Ng. These are what I believe to be the last batch of gig pictures as I m now gonna start travelling quite a bit again. Have a lovely day! x PS: Yes I stopped writing in German, I’ m gonna wait to see if my grandma complains…

Live in London

Gonna start this post with an incredibly generic statement: how fast did the first half of the year pass! Have we really reached the end of July yet? In London it just started getting summery a week ago and now it got colder again and I fear that that was it - in terms of “Summer in London”. But be that as it may, I decided it’s time to share some live videos of me performing my original music in London. I wrote all songs entirely myself…some of them are completely made up, others are very close to real events in my life. This gig, which was in June, took place at a venue called “Servant Jazz Quarters”, a cozy little place with a great vibe. I played there with my band which consists of a drummer, a double bassist, a guitarist and a keyboardist. At times, when my keyboardist Frankie (Hi Frankie!) is unavailable, I play keys myself, which puts very high demands on my multi-tasking skills. Also, I am less appealing to the females in the audience when Frankie is missing. Anyways, I’ m drifting away here…have a good day!! :)

My first music video EVER!

Hey cuties! This year I continue sucking at making regular posts but what counts is that eventually it always goes on. Biggest news so far: I have released my first single! The song is called “I thought you were gay” and it’s about a guy I met at the gym. Sometimes you gotta say it as it is, being German, talking around it has never been my strength anyway. For the first couple of months in 2016, I have been all consumed with organising what would be my first video ever; I started out collecting ideas and writing out the script. I then sent it to my favourite photographer / cinematographer who surprisingly agreed to help me (bare in mind my script involed "A cowboy, a sex doll..." etc). Then I started scouting for the right actors, planning out the two shooting days and then, in the beginning of May, the shoot finally took place. During that time, I had slept no more than 2 hours for three consecutive days and afterwards I was completely exhausted. Highlight was definitely driving home at 1AM in a broken van, with only one contact lens (I m blind af) and a spider as my only companion :D
In the end though, all went well and I feel very happy to see my vision having come to life.

Love, Ina

The campaign is still going as I still need help to fund my EP so check it out if you haven't already: www.inareninow.com/campaign
