Unicorn diaries

This halloween I decided to be a rainbow unicorn. I don’ t like being something scary (I dislike all things scary) but I like the idea of dressing up as something else. I also did a gig in this beautiful outfit, I attached a little video above:-) There is really nothing more to say to that except: Always be yourself…unless you can be a unicorn. Then always be a unicorn.

My birthday!

This year I celebrated my birthday in three different countries: First in LA - all by myself with a Quesadilla, then in London with my friends and finally in Germany with my family. I have received really beautiful gifts and amazing cakes but most importantly - not to sound corny -I enjoyed being around the people I love. In my family, the German side that is, we celebrate everyone’s birthday. Its a tradition. It’s one of the reasons I fly back to Berlin so often and frankly it is very important to me. But I had a great time in London as well, especially because I was surprised with this super cute birthday table which was really nice after a 10 hour flight! Thats it for today <3 span="">

LA - Nothing good comes easy

In October I took a rather spontaneous trip to Los Angeles, California. I have been spending a long time looking for producers who could really get my sound right and seemingly out of nowhere came this opportunity to record my EP in LA with pretty much the best team I could have asked for. I’ ve been there for a bit more than two weeks and I m not gonna lie, it was very stressful. There was a lot of pressure and a lot of administrative stuff I had to deal with, all whilst I had to be my most creative. But as they say “nothing good ever comes easy” and I think I have managed quite well (You’ ll hear the new songs next year!) Back in London I had some extreme version of insomnia, I couldn’t sleep for weeks. This was partly due to the jet lag but also due to the fact that it was hard to calm down after this trip. I kept worrying about stuff and it left me sleepless. Only after I went back to Germany for a few days it got better. Now I m back to my sleeping pattern of a 6 month old baby. The more I am dealing with this industry, the more I start to understand that faith, patience and persistence are the things that matter most. You can’t fail if you don’ t quit! ;-) On that note, have a lovely week <3 span="">

All gold everything

First of all: This is my 100th post!!!! Anyways. Moving on: Here are some pictures of my headline gig at the Century Club in Soho (London), what a night this was! (pictures taken by the fantastic Kevin Wright ;-)) For starters, quite a large number of people came to watch me and support me, including my mum who had never seen me play an original gig before. I played a pretty long set of almost 40 minutes and the crowd was awesome and attentive the whole time - thats just the best feeling…During those nights, everything is usually so hectic and stressful and I often don’t get the chance to really express how happy I feel about the fact that people enjoy my music and come to my shows. So if any of you reads this now, please know that I really appreciate all the love and support! Have a great week <3 span="">

Paris - Croissants & balloons

Bonjour!!! As you might have seen on my Instagram, a few weeks ago I’ ve spent some days in Paris. I was there for a job (played a character in my friend’s music video) so there was not really any free time but I still enjoyed myself. The last time I visited Paris I must have been about 14 years old; I went to Disneyland with my mum. Given that France has always had a special place in my heart since I lived there for a year when I was 16 yrs old, I was very happy to finally go back again. But man…acting is not for me, I tried really hard but I could literally feel how unauthentic I come across:D Which is a shame because I do enjoy it. The story of the video was based around a red balloon - in case you' re wondering why there's a red balloon on every second picture. The last photo by the way was not staged, I just found this picture laying on the street. Still wondering if this was some sort of sign of protection or good luck although I am not per se religious. In any way I enjoyed being back in this beautiful city and I hope I can return soon again :)) Have a lovely week! x
