Boys Trip Pt 2

Durch Moskalenki, das kleine ukrainische Dorf in welchem wir gewohnt haben, führt ein sehr schöner, klarer Fluss namens “Ros”. Dort mussten die Jungs mindestens alle zwei Stunden reinspringen. Auch nachts in kompletter Dunkelheit sind sie reingesprungen. Leider ist das Wasser gelb, was zwar für Flüsse anscheinend normal ist, mich aber irgendwie irritiert. Außerdem gehen wir auch in genau demselben Fluss angeln, ich weiß also leider was da noch so für Kreaturen drin schwimmen. Ich bin trotzdem reingesprungen und habe versucht für´s Foto entspannt zu gucken (eher ohne Erfolg;). Morgen kommt dann der letzte Teil:)

//Moskalenki, the little Ukrainian village where we stayed, is home to a very beautiful and clear river named “Ros”. The boys had to jump inside every two hours minimum. Also at night, when it was completey dark, they jumped in. Unfortunately the water is quite yellow, and though it seems to be normal for rivers, it freaked me out a little. To make things worse, it is furthermore exactly this river where we always go fishing, hence, I know the kind of other creatures that are floating around there. I still jumped in and tried to make a relaxed face for the picture (rather failed in this attempt). Tomorrow comes the last part:)  

Boys Trip Pt 1

Neulich machte ich die einschneidene Erfahrung mit drei Jungs bei einem Wochenendtrip mitzufahren. Einer dieser Jungs war mein Freund und der Rest waren seine Kumpels Dima und Vlad. Es wurde sich über Fleisch unterhalten, Fleisch gegegessen, es wurden Tiere imitiert und sich gegenseitig nass gespritzt. Alles Dinge, wo man als Mädchen dann mit spätestens zwölf Jahren keine Freude mehr dran findet. Aber gut, ich habe in der Zwischenzeit gemalt, Klavier gespielt oder gesungen. Andere Sachen haben wir alle zusammen gemacht wie angeln und Quadbike fahren. Abens wurden dann unfassbare Massen an Fleisch gegrillt und Poker gespielt. Eigentlich bin ich ja ein Naturtalent aber dieses Mal habe ich zwei Mal alles verloren. Morgen kommt Pt.2!

//The other day, I´ve made the gashing experience of joining three males on their weekendtrip. One of these was my boyfriend, the rest were his mates Dima and Vlad. Their favorite actitivites included “Talking about meat”, “Eating meat”, “Imitating animals”, “Splashing water all over each other” and other primitive things which, frankly spoken, are no longer of interest to any girl who has reached the age of twelve. But well, in the meantime I was drawing, played piano and sang a bit. There were however also some things we did together like fishing and quadbiking. In the evening they would then put unbelievable amounts of meat on the grill and play poker. I usually am a nature talent but this time I lost it all. Tomorrow comes Pt. 2!  

Fast cars and Opera

Neulich war ich das erste Mal bei den berühmten Salzburger Festspielen in Österreich. Meine Mama hatte von Audi eine Einladung bekommen und hat mich als ihre Begleitperson mitgenommen (Es ist ein harter Job, aber einer muss ihn machen!). Es war wirklich ein außgewöhnlich glamouröser und perfekt organisierter Abend inklusive Empfang inmitten österreichischer Traumkulisse, Opernpremiere und anschließender Aftershowparty (“Audi Night”). Dort trafen wir auch die Hauptdarstellerin der Oper. Sie war, wie ich auch zur Hälfte, Bulgarin und wahnsinning charmant und freundlich. Die Oper selbst war allerings nicht so mein Fall. Trotz der glücklichen Tatsache, dass ich den gesamten zweiten Akt durchschlafen konnte, war sie mit 4 Stunden schlichtweg zu lang. Insgesamt war es jedoch, wie schon gesagt, ein sehr, sehr schöner Abend. Vorallem auch, weil ich endlich mal wieder Zeit mit meiner Mama verbringen konnte;-)

//The other day, I went to the famous “Salzburger Festspiele” in Austria for the first time in my life. My mother received an invitation by Audi und took me as her plus one (It´s a tough job, but somebody´s gotta do it!). It was an extraordinarily glamourous and perfectly organised evening which included a reception in the middle of a breathtaking scenery, an opera premiere and the subsequent Aftershowparty (“Audi Night”). At the latter, we also met the lead role of the opera. She was Bulgarian (like me, though I am only half) and incredibly charming and friendly. The opera itself on the other hand was not completely my cup of tea. Despite the fortunate fact, that I was able to sleep during the entire second act, four hours in total were simply too much. Overall though, this was, as I said before, a very beautiful evening. Especially because I was finally able to spend some time with my mummy again;-) 

Cozy In Lilac

Dies war einer der letzten Abende in Kreta. Sophia und ich haben “Fotografieren bei schwierigen Lichtverhältniasses” geübt. Sie hat das mit ihren 14 Jahren um einiges besser gemeistert als ich, daher sind hier nur ihre Bilder veröffentlicht.

//This was one of our last evenings in Crete. Sophia and me practised “Taking pictures in difficult light coniditons”. She mastered this task much better than me with her 14 years of age. Therefore you´ll see only her pictures published here. 

Red Rocks shoot

Hier waren Sophia und ich ein bisschen in der Natur unterwegs. Kreta bietet tolle Kulissen für viele Arten der Fotografie. Das hier war im Grunde mein erstes Fotoshooting mit einem Model. (Sophia ist zwar offiziell noch kein Model, aber das kann ja noch werden;) Die Bilder von mir hat logischweise sie gemacht. Wer Anregungen/ Fragen, was auch immer, äußern möchte, kann diese übrigens gerne als Kommentare posten.

//In these pictures, Sophia and I went out to discover Crete´s nature. Indeed, Crete disposes of very beautiul landscapes that suit many types of photography. This was basicall my first photoshoot with a model. (Though Sophia isn´t an official model just yet, I´m confident she´s got what it takes;) The pictures of myself are obviously taken by her. If any of you have any advice, questions or whatever, please don´t hesitate to let me know by posting a comment. 

Greek Night

Einen Abend unseres elftätigen Kreta Urlaubs verbrachten wir außerhalb unseres Hotels anlässlich der “Griechischen Nacht”, die in einem Nachbarort stattfand. Zunächst besichtigen wir eine Kupferschmiede wo ein Costa Cordalis live kleine Schildkröte etc aus dem Feuer zauberte. Danach ging es in eine riesige ARt Turnhallen wo wir den ganzen Abend mit Gesang und Tanz behelligt wurden. Ziel der Veranstaltung war meiner Meinung möglichst viele Gäste möglich schnell besoffen zu kriegen.  Als dieses Ziel nach ca 4 Stunden mehr als erreicht war, gab es noch eine manifeste Saalschlacht.  Von einer griechischen Nacht hätte ich allerdings auch nichts Geringeres erwartet.

// During our stay in Crete, we also we spent one evening outside our hotel, on the occasion of the “Greek Night”, which took place in a nearby village. First of all we visited a copper work station where a Costa Cordalis look-alike (google him) produced little turtles etc as we were sitting there. Afterwards we went into some sort of huge gymnasium where we´ve been entertaint with music and dance performances all night. In my opinion, the goal of this event was so get everybody smashed as fast as possible. Once this goal was more than achieved within about four hours, we also experienced a proper roughhouse. Didn´t expect any less from a Greek night. 

Leopards

Hier sind ein paar Bilder vom Abend. Die Bilder hat Sophia gemacht, die 14jährige Tochter von einem Familienfreund, die auch mit dabei war. Fast jeden Abend haben wir Fotos gemacht, als Übung sozusagen. Wer sich erinnert, fotografieren lernen war ja eines meiner Ziele für 2014. Das Kleid ist von meiner Mama, wie vieles in meiner Gaderobe. Seht ihr die kleinen Leoparsden auf dem Kleid? ;-)

// Here are some evening pictures. The pictures were taken by Sophia, the 14-year old daughter of one of our family friends. Almost every evening the two of us took pictures, as practise so to say. Some of you might remember that photography was part of my “things I want to learn in 2014” list. The dress is from my mum, as many things in my wardrobe. You you see the little leaopards on the dress? ;-)

At the beach

Ich bin zurück! Ich habe soviele Sachen erlebt in den letzten Wochen und demnach jetzt so viele Bilder auf dem Computer, dass ich gar nicht wusste, wo ich anfangen soll. Jetzt habe ich meine kleine Krise aber Gott sei Dank überwunden und werde in relativ kurzen Abständen alle Ereignisse posten; inklusive Urlaub, meine ersten Photoshoots (als Fotografin), Familienparties, Salzburger Festspiele, neue Zeichnungen, etc. Also bis bald!

//I am back! I´ve made so many interesting experiences during the last couple of weeks and hence got so many pictures on my computer that I didn´t know where to start. But luckily I managed to overcome this little crisis and will now start catching up with everything that happened in relatively short intervals. This includes my holidays, first photoshoot (as a photographer), family parties, Salzburger Festspiele, new drawings, etc. So stay tuned:)
