Goals for 2014

Neujahrsvorsätze werden von vielen Leuten belächelt nach dem Motto "Wenn ich wirklich etwas ändern will, kann ich damit auch während des Jahres anfangen". Stimmt eigentlich auch. Auf der anderen Seite ist der Anfang eines neuen Jahres aus meiner Sicht ein guter Zeitpunkt um neue Projekte zu beginnen, vorallem deshalb, weil man genau weiß wann man angefangen hat und wann man sein Fazit ziehen kann: nämlich am 31.12 des nächsten Jahres. 

Ich habe ich mir dieses Jahr vorgenommen mich mit drei neuen Bereichen intensiv zu beschäftigen. Welche das sind und wie ich das jeweils angehe /angegangen bin seht ihr im Folgenden.  



//Many people smile at new years resolutions saying things like "If you really want to change something you might as well start doing that during the year". Which is true. On the other hand the beginning of a new year is in my opinion a good moment to start new projects, especially because you know exactly when you have started and when you can draw your conclusions: precisely on next year´s NYE. 

This year I resolve to start getting really good in three new areas. In the following you´ll see which areas I´m talking about and how I´m planning to achieve my goals in this area.

Am Ende dieses Jahres möchte ich unbedingt in der Lage sein mich selbst auf der Gitarre zu begleiten und mithilfe der Gitarre zu komponieren. In diesem Monat beschäftige ich mich zunächst mit Akkorden; Akkordtabellen gibt es überall im Internet. Als nächsten Schritt werde ich versuchen einfache Lieder zu spielen und das schnelle Umgreifen üben. Ein professioneller Gitarrist hat mir gesagt, dass man Lieder am besten über Youtube Tutorials lernen kann. 


//At the end of this year I would really like to be able to accompany myself on the guitar and be able to compose with it. This month I started practising chords; you can find chord tables  everywhere in the internet. As a next step I will try to play easy songs in order to train my ability to switch chords quickly. A professional guitarist told me that the best way to learn new songs is to just look for youtube tutorials. 

Als zweites möchte ich dieses Jahr richtig fotografieren lernen. Ich hatte schon seit längerem eine Spiegelreflexkamera aber habe mich nie damit beschäftigt und nur im Automatik Modus fotografiert. 
Jetzt habe ich angefangen Youtube Tutorials zu gucken und es gibt einen Typen, der die Basics wirklich gut erklärt. Nachdem ich verstanden habe wie man im M-Modus, also komplett manuell, fotografiert, habe ich das geübt. Mein Model war mein Kuschelhässchen. In den Hässchenbildern habe ich zB versucht eine depressive Stimmung zu erzeugen. Außerdem habe ich mit Schärfe und Unschärfe rumprobiert. In den kommenden Monaten möchte ich dann noch lernen wie man mit dem Blitz arbeitet und wie man mit der Spiegelreflexkamera gute Videos machen kann. 

//Next, I would like to learn how to take pictures properly with a DSLR. I´ve had one for quite a while now but I never really understood how it works and whenever I took pictures with it I used the automatic mode. Now I started watching youtube tutorials from a guy who explains the basics really well. After I understood how to take pictures in the M mode, which is handled 100% manually, I started practising in that mode. My model was my fluffy bunny. In the bunny pictures above I tried to create a depressive atmosphere. In the upcoming months I want to learn how to work with a flash and finally how to film with a DSLR. 

Musikproduktion ist etwas was ich sporadisch schon seit 2010 mache. Ich habe angefangen mit Garage Band, was ich ganz gut beherrsche. Danach kam Logic Express, das konnte ich auch so einigermaßen bedienen aber ich habe lange nicht alle Funktionen genutzt. Jetzt habe ich Logic Pro X wo vieles anders ist und ich mit Ausprobieren nicht mehr weiter komme. Demnach werde ich auch hier mit Youtube Tutorials versuchen alle Funktionen zu verstehen und zu benutzen. 


//Music production is something that I´ve sporadically been doing since 2010. I´ve started using Garage Band, which I´m okay at. Afterwards I got Logic, which I could also more or less operate although I haven´t been using it to its full extend by far. Now I have Logic X Pro where many things are different and "learning by trying" doesn´t get you that far anymore. Therefore I´ll try to understand all functions by watching Youtube tutorials, as always;).
