Während meine Mutter zum Weltfrauentag traditionell wahlweise einen Putzlappen oder überhaupt nichts geschenkt bekommt, laufen die ukrainischen Männer an diesem Tag zur Höchstform auf. Überall sieht man Männer mit Blumensträußen, die Firma gibt einen aus, man hat einen Tag frei (wenn der Frauentag, wie dieses Jahr, aufs Wochenende fällt, hat man am Montag frei), Kollegen bringen Blumen und Konfekt etc... Kurz gesagt, der Frauentag ist hier kein verdammter Witz. Weil ich es einfach nicht fassen konnte, was am Samstag hier abging, habe ich ein “paar” der Sträuße, die hier im Haus stehen, fotografiert.
PS: Interessanterweise spielt der Männertag in der Ukraine keine Rolle.

Everywhere you go, you see men carrying flower bouquets, the company provides flowers and chocolate to all females, you have a day off (if it´s during the weekend, you get monday off), etc. Long story short, Women´s Day is really not a joke here. As I couldn´t believe what was going on here on saturday, I took pictures of a couple of the flower bouquets that are distributed all around the house.
PS: Interestingly, Men´s Day is being completely ignored in Ukraine.
